Just having a positive attitude is not enough. What is required is a rock-solid, growth-oriented mindset. Let us understand the characteristics of people with a rock-solid, growth-oriented mindset :
- They are self-motivated; they do not depend on anyone else to get into action mode. They are self-driven by the positive and negative consequences of achieving or not achieving their goals. (Read my article: How to use ‘towards goals’ and ‘away from goals’ motivation to inspire yourself to take action every day).
- They are personally involved in their growth journey than depending on experts/coaches. They take control of their life story rather than allowing their environment and circumstances around them to control their life.
- They compare themselves to themselves instead of comparing themselves with the already successful people around them.
- They focus on achieving small chunks of success/victories on an everyday basis. They ensure that every day counts; every day is a forward-moving day. They maintain a present day-to-day focus while at the same time keeping track of their long-term vision/goals.
- They focus on gaining specific knowledge and expertise. They achieve mastery in their field and make themselves more rare, valuable to people.
- They accept only the highest standards from themselves. They focus on delivering their best every time to themselves and the people around them.
Think of any successful person you know who has created wealth and success. You will notice the above six characteristics in each of them. Let’s make these six characteristics an intrinsic part of our mindset.
